About this event
Description
What could help you move through stress, grief, or feeling stuck? This program explores concepts of nervous system regulation and integrates those concepts into a movement practice. Each class will have an introduction to a somatic skill for supporting nervous system health, guided movement to a variety of music, and a short reflection. The movement is gentle, exploratory, and uses simple repetitive moves, as well as some guided free exploration. We’ll explore somatic movement skills such as start and stop, connect with rhythm, expand and contract, and follow the flow. All are welcome – no experience required, and any mobility challenges can be included. From a fall participant: "Kathleen renewed my interest in dance and I loved her tiny teachings, music playlist, rhythm & flow. As a participant I was very engaged and did not want to miss a session." Kathleen Naylor is a Counselling Therapist and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. She’s been offering somatic movement classes on the south shore for 14 years.Wear comfortable clothing and bring water.
