About this event
Experiment with alcohol inks in monotype and monoprint making to achieve vivid, translucent effects on non-porous surfaces like gel plates, plexiglass, Yupo paper, and foil, then transfer them to printmaking paper. Create collagraph and drypoint plates, coloring them with alcohol inks, sealing, and transferring them onto print papers for beautiful exploratory monoprints. Alcohol inks create vibrant, spontaneous patterns that can be further enhanced using stencils, stamps, and a variety of tools, such as embossing folders, to add raised textures. This class provides an enjoyable and adaptable approach to exploration, catering to all skill levels and producing distinctive artworks. Supplies include printmaking paper, newsprint, Yupo, gel plates, plexiglass, matboard, embossing folders, stamps, stencils, alcohol inks, mediums, acrylic paints, and tools like brayers. Participants can bring personal supplies, but supplies will be provided. A $20 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the beginning of the workshop. 4 weeks Instructor: Nicole Patrice Dul
