Saturday 11:00-11:45 am on the following dates: Suzuki Group Class - Who is it for? Students who are studying the Suzuki Method and taking private lessons. *Group classes are not offered in place of taking private lessons with a qualified Suzuki teacher. Families will attend group class once per month. Learning together is a fun and socially rewarding activity! Participating in this monthly group class will help prepare students for ensemble playing in the future. As we build on and augment the skills learned in book one, group class becomes a good way for students to reinforce the skills that were learned in book one through review. Listening to the recording helps greatly but hearing, seeing, and moving together with other students helps teach discernment. As the students become more aware and gain more nuanced technical skills they can enjoy playing "old friends" using their new techniques and musicianship. Topics like how to manage the bow to create dynamics and articulations and the coordination of the left and right hand as well as being aware of the compositional structures are reinforced. Basic two part harmony will be introduced as well as leadership skills in ensemble playing.
