Demanding a romantic light, the male woodcock waits until dusk before performing his theatrical display. The woodcock “sky dance” is quite a sight to see! We will start the evening learning about the American woodcock, then we’ll take a hike to see if we can catch a glimpse of the male courtship flight. This is an inclusive program, welcoming individuals of all abilities. The hike will take place at dusk, in low light. The hike will be 1 mile to 2 miles on paved trails and natural surfaces across uneven terrain.
Ages 10 and older. (Participants younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult.)
