Welcome, all homeschool families! Join other middle and high school-aged homeschoolers to experience a naturalist-led field trip at McKinley Woods – Kerry Sheridan Grove. In Illinois, we have all four seasons, but how and why? Which species rely on seasonal changes and how does the changing climate impact them? Discover what phenology is and how scientists measure these important cyclical patterns. Please note this is not a drop-off program; adults or chaperones do not need to register but must be present for the program. This is an inclusive field trip, welcoming individuals of all abilities. Four Rivers Environmental Education Center is an accessible facility. Hikes will be up to 1 mile over paved and natural surface terrain.
