About this event

Description

What is playaking? Picking up litter while kayaking! Join American Canoe Association-certified instructors and take to the water in kayaks to reach and remove litter that can’t be accessed from shore. Spend a morning with like-minded citizens recreating with purpose and making the waters of Rock Run Rookery healthier and prettier. After a brief introduction, we will head out on the water with pickers and receptacles to remove trash that can only be reached by boat. Remember to bring sunscreen, sunglasses and water. Previous kayaking experience is required as this is not an instructional or guided paddle. All equipment is provided, including personal flotation devices. The natural surface launch area is accessible by a paved trail from the parking lot.
