Description
The City of Chanhassen annually issues permits for canoe and kayak racks at Lake Ann Beach (1456 W 7th Street, 18 spots) and Carver Beach (6891 Lotus Trail, 6 spots).
Registration for canoe and kayak racks will be accepted beginning January 2, 2026. Applicants are assigned racks through a lottery drawing, with priority given to Chanhassen residents. The deadline to register is February 28, 2026.
The lottery drawing is held internally by staff in early March and will use preferences listed in your registration to place you when your name is drawn. Staff will notify you of the results via email shortly after the drawing. If none of your preferred locations are available, we will notify you and ask if you'd like to be placed on a waitlist or request a refund by March 31, 2026.
In consideration of being allowed to use the canoe/kayak rack at Lake Ann Park or Carver Beach Park, the registrant agrees that the City of Chanhassen, its officers, employees, and agents shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to the canoe, kayak, or related accessories caused by fire, theft, accident, or any other cause.
