About this event

Description

The origin of the spectacular topography of Fox River Bluffs dates to the last Ice Age and to the interaction of the glacier with the much larger river that flowed through the valley. The glacier created the landforms on both sides of the valley, fed the river with massive amounts of meltwater and, at times, blocked the river with an ice dam. Disentangling these various influences will be the goal of our walk, but even more importantly, we’ll ask how this helps us understand the ecosystems we are trying to restore.
This event is in person and will not be recorded. The hike will occur rain or shine, so come dressed appropriately for the weather.
These were developed for our volunteers, but are free and open to anyone.
