About this event
Most films begin with a moment that grabs the audience’s attention before a single line of dialogue is spoken. In this one-week filmmaking and editing camp, students will step into the role of a professional editor to master the art of the Title Sequence Intro. We’ll begin by exploring a brief history of cinematic intros, analyzing iconic examples, and selecting a classic title sequence to recreate and/or draw inspiration from. From there, students will gain hands-on experience in Adobe Premiere Pro, learning essential editing skills including timeline navigation, basic cutting, and keyframing motion design. Editing is more than visuals, sound plays a critical role. Students will also work with sound effects and music to enhance their title sequence and support mood and pacing. This creative gauntlet is designed to take students from viewer to editor in just five days. By the end of the week, each student will have a polished title sequence that feels ready for the big screen.
