About this event
Take your engineering skills to the skies in our most advanced robotics adventure yet! If you have conquered the arena in BattleBots and NextStep Robotics, or have seasoned experience with middle or high school robotics teams, you are ready for the ultimate challenge: flight. Using the state-of-the-art Robolink CoDroneEDU platform, you will work in small, collaborative squads to master the physics of aerodynamics and the logic of programming.  The week culminates in thrilling aerial competitions where your code meets reality. Teams will program their drones and steer them through obstacle courses, and race against the clock. The more experience with the drones students get, the more complex the competitions can be.  While Python programming experience is not required, it is an advantage. Students with a coding background will unlock complex autonomous flight maneuvers, but there is plenty of critical engineering, strategy, and manual piloting work for everyone. Note: To get the most out of the autonomous challenges, we recommend attending one of our Python camps beforehand if you are new to coding.  Whether you are debugging the flight path or taking the controls for a manual landing, this is your chance to pilot the future. Prepare for takeoff!   Note:  PRS will be integrating Drone programming into the Middle School Skills and Robotics program starting in the 2026-2027 school year - come get a head start! Prerequisites:  Completion of Robotics 1 & 2 summer camps or participation in official middle or high school Robotics programs at PRS or elsewhere.
