The High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) is Maine’s general education diploma (GED) program. If you are an adult without a high school diploma, earning your HiSET certificate increases your job prospects and earnings potential along with your eligibility for admission to two- and four-year colleges, tech/trade schools, and even military service. We offer placement testing and one-on-one instruction in all five HiSET subjects—math, reading, science, social studies, and writing— FREE year round in person at The Learning Center and/or online via Zoom. Hours are flexible. While most of our students achieve their certificate in six to nine months, we’re here to help you succeed at your pace, on your schedule in a supportive and welcoming environment.
