About this event
If you love to create and can demonstrate a proven commitment to your craft, you are a viable candidate for an artist residency! These programs provide opportunities for private, focused time to create, and are often based in some of the world’s most scenic locations. Most offer private living accommodations (2-4 weeks) free of charge; sometimes transportation costs are covered, too. Artists of all persuasions—writers, painters, sculptors, photographers, fiber artists, musicians, composers, glass artists, woodworkers, bookmakers and more—are encouraged to apply. This course will guide you to find an artist residency that fits your individual needs and will explain how to submit a winning application. Instructor Laura Lee Perkins, MS is an author, educator specializing in Native American Flute and Life Skills. She has received 14 grants and been awarded 5 artist-in-residencies. She has published 18 books, 100+ articles, 5 flute CDs and she loves to teach!
