After completing this course, you will be certified in Standard First Aid and CPR/AED level C for three years.

The Canadian Red Cross Standard (Intermediate) First Aid blended program combines online theory with a one-day skill class. The theory and information are conveyed to the participants outside of the classroom through an online component (approximately 8 hours) and allow for the classroom time to focus on skill development and theory application.

NOTE: The online portion must be completed before the date of face-to-face instruction. If the online portion is not complete, you will not be allowed to participate, and no refunds will be provided. After registration, the Canadian Red Cross will send access to the online component to the email listed on your MRU account.

Course content includes: all course components of SFA with the addition of treatment for head and spine injuries; bone, muscle and joint injuries; wound care; sudden medical emergencies and environmental emergencies. This is a recognized course for workplace environments by Occupational Health and Safety.
