Age Eligibility: In order to be eligible for our 3-5 Year-Old Programs, your child must turn three on or before September 8, 2026. Students must be able to toilet independently.
Kindergarten age children are eligible to attend (they can attend kindergarten and preschool in the same day and still qualify for the affordability grant).
2026-27 Non-Refundable Fees

• WHCA Annual Membership (if not already purchased/renewed through the end of June 2027): $35/year charged at the time of registration
• Registration Fee: $55 charged on July 1.
• School supply kit: $40 charged on Sept 1. Non-refundable once the session starts.

West Hillhurst Preschool is participating in the Provincial Affordability Program. All parents of children zero to kindergarten age will benefit from reduced fees through affordability grants. Funding is provided directly to operators and is to be used specifically to reduce fees. Fee reduction for 2026-2027 is a maximum of $100/month, which will be automatically applied monthly to each student's account.
2026-27 Monthly Tuition Fees (DO NOT PAY IN FULL - CHOOSE OUR MONTHLY PAYMENT PLAN)2 Day Programs: $185.00/month - minus the $100 affordability grant totaling $85 out of pocket cost.
Tuition is charged monthly (on the last day of the month). Monthly fees commence on September 30th through to June 18th. The $100 affordability grant will automatically be applied to your account, you do not have to apply for this grant.
Tuition payment plan examples:2 Day Programs:September 30th: $85 paid by the participant on an automatic credit card. By mid Oct, the $100 will be paid through the government affordability grant for the month of September, totaling $185 for the month of September. This will repeat for Oct-June, with the final government payment in July.
Registering for multiple programs: Yes, you are able to register your child for multiple programs, but they must be on different days. Due to our licensing we are not allowed to have children in class for more then 4 hours/day.
What would be allowed: All afternoons or all mornings (if they are 4 by Dec 31), combination of MWF am & T/Th pm, combination of MW pm & T/Th am. You will only be charged once for the administration fee and the supply fee.
Withdrawal Policy: Written notice must sent to the Registrar at least two full calendar months prior to withdrawal (e.g. by Nov 1 for a January withdrawal.) Fees are not prorated for mid-month withdrawals. Withdrawals prior to the start of classes must be made before July 1st to avoid penalty.
Waitlist Info: If this program is full, click the '+ Add to Waitlist' link to add yourself to the waitlist. We will notify you if a spot becomes open. Please note, the 'Add to Wish List' button does NOT add you to the waitlist.
Parent Volunteer Requirement: The West Hillhurst Community Preschool requires parent volunteering outside of the classroom. The exact commitment will vary depending on class size and how many volunteers we have for each task. Tasks could include being one the playdough helpers, weekly laundry helpers, part of the special events team, part of the preschool executive. Please see our website FAQ section for details.
