Vecova is excited to present Dr. Alan Martino (he/him) to come speak with our consumers on Disabilities and Dating. Dr. Martino is an Associate Professor in Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies at the University of Calgary. He leads the Disability and Sexuality Lab, where his research focuses on the intersections of disability and sexuality. Dr. Martino’s research spans topics such as inclusive sex education, online dating, and the intimate lives of people with disabilities.
On October 15, 2025, Dr. Martino will be coming to speak to Vecova PDD consumers on Disabilities and Dating. These topics may include safe online dating, red & green flags of dating, dating safety, and sexual rights.
This workshop will be a mixture of learning, activities, and group discussion. Because the topics may involve sensitive issues, participants may experience uncomfortable thoughts or feelings. This is a normal part of discussing subjects such as dating and sexuality.
