Description
Welcome to BCIT Recreational Volleyball League!
Bump, spike and set! If you're a beginner to volleyball or looking to hone your skills in a semi-competitive atmosphere, this league is for you! This is a open-category* Recreational Volleyball League that offers 8 regular season games, up to 2 playoff games.
How it Works
Even though this league is just for fun, players will play against other teams every week! All games are played weekly, self-officiated and played at co-ed net height. Please note, this is a structured league that requires players to commit to playing on a weekly basis.
Please note: Due to scheduling limitations, players are only permitted to play on one team per semester. Players cannot register for Competitive AND Recreational Volleyball Leagues. Competitive players are not permitted to substitute on Recreational league teams.
Cost
- 20% Off Earlybird Price (Dec 1, 2025 - Jan 17, 2026): $16 + tax per player
- Regular Price (Applies on and after Jan 18, 2026): $20 + tax per player
Who should sign up for Recreational Volleyball League?
This league is intended for players looking to have fun, meet new people and/or hone their skills in a semi-competitive environment. You might consider joining if:
- Your team is all about having fun and enjoys light competition!
- Your team is looking to develop foundational volleyball skills and/or refine positions.
- Your team does not include any current or former competitive high school, club and/or collegiate-level volleyball players.
It is the responsibility of teams to self-assess their overall skill level and register in the most appropriate category. Teams may be subject to movement into the Competitive category if staff deem skill level of players exceeds the Recreational level. The Competitive Volleyball League is considered mixed-category which means teams must adhere to a minimum of 2 women (trans women & femme aligned folks encouraged to join) players on the team who must play a minimum 50% of games. Any team transferred is responsible for adhering to the mixed-category requirement.
What is Open-Category?
This category encourages all individuals to participate from all genders, including those who identify as Two-Spirit, trans and non-binary.
