Welcome to BCIT Recreation's Doubles Badminton Tournament!

Whether you're here to smash, drop, dive or cheer loudly for fellow students from the sidelines, we welcome you to join our Doubles Badminton Tournament! The winners of the tournament will be invited to represent BCIT at the annual Intercampus Cup against SFU and KPU students! All skill levels and genders are welcome!

Who Can Play?

Each team must sign up as, and be composed of 2 players of the same or mixed gender. No single player registration is permitted.

How it Works

Qualifying: Each doubles team will be placed in a pool with other teams and will play round robin games during the qualification phase.

Elimination: After all qualifying games have concluded, the top 1-2 teams from each pool will advance to the finals round.

Finals: The top teams will compete in a single elimination bracket.

Tournament Rules

Qualifying: Teams will play 1 set to 30 points (cap at 35).

Finals: Teams will play best of 3 sets to 21 (first 2 sets cap at 30, no cap on third set).

Scoring for Teams of Varied Genders

2 Men v 2 Women = Starting +7 point lead for Women

2 Men v 2 Mixed = Starting +4 point lead for Mixed

2 Women v 2 Mixed = Starting +4 point lead for Women

Prizes

First place wins BCIT medals, the opportunity to compete against SFU and KPU players at Intercampus Cup (see below) and badminton swag. Second and third place players will win badminton swag!

Cost

• 20% Off Earlybird Price (Jan 23-Feb 13, 2026): $8 + tax per player
• Regular Price (Applies on and after Feb 14, 2026): $10 + tax per player
