About this event
DATES: Oct 3, 4 Instructor: Erina Schultz Katazome is a Japanese resist dyeing technique. "Kata" means "stencil" and "zome" is a form of "to dye". Students will learn the recipe to make their own rice paste resist, create their own cut stencils, and learn to print and dye with indigo and the rice paste we make in class. -- Our classes are designed to focus on a learned skill rather than a final product. At TAC, our mission is to provide skills and knowledge for a lifetime! All materials for sample making and learning the technique are included. Any additional materials will need to be supplied by the student based on their vision. Weekend Intensive students have access to Open Studio time for free during the class and for up to a week after the class to put their new knowledge to practice.
