Dates: March 21 Instructor: Ye'ela Wilschanski In this pine needle basket weaving class, we will work directly with pine needles to create form, using no added materials. A three-part coiling method is used to bunch the needles together and spiral outward, allowing the basket to take shape in your hands. As you weave, the warm, resinous scent of pine fills the space. This slow, meditative practice invites patience, focus, and a deep connection to the material. -- Our classes are designed to focus on a learned skill rather than a final product. At TAC, our mission is to provide skills and knowledge for a lifetime! All materials for sample making and learning the technique are included. Any additional materials will need to be supplied by the student based on their vision. Weekend Intensive students have access to Open Studio time for free during the class and for up to a week after the class to put their new knowledge to practice.
