About this event
DATES: May 3, 10, 17, 31 (Skip May 24) Instructor: Marta Nowak In this class, students will dive into intermediate knitting using the short row technique on their own Brother 864 standard gauge knitting machine. Students will learn how to knit graphic imagery, create textural structures (flaps, corded loops, pockets), and learn how to map out a basic knitting pattern for their artwork. Students will walk away with a collection of abstract knitted “paintings” (or swatches) and a thorough understanding of short row, which can be utilized throughout future knitting projects! -- Our classes are designed to focus on a learned skill rather than a final product. At TAC, our mission is to provide skills and knowledge for a lifetime! All materials for sample making and learning the technique are included. Any additional materials will need to be supplied by the student based on their vision. Intensive students have access to Open Studio time for free during the class and for up to a week after the class to put their new knowledge to practice.
