Stories Workshop With Kat Keenan September 13th 1-4pm Need some inspiration for the Stories show? Join us for a creative brainstorming workshop designed to help you develop ideas and explore the theme. Through discussion, writing prompts, and group brainstorming, we'll uncover the stories, memories, books, people, places, and objects that matter to us and discover ways to translate them into clay. We'll also explore techniques Kat uses for incorporating storytelling into pottery, including a demonstration of slip transfers, and sgraffito text decoration. Whether you already have an idea or are starting with a blank page, this workshop is a chance to generate concepts, share inspiration, and connect with fellow artists as you prepare work for the show. Participants are encouraged to bring a meaningful object, photograph, letter, book, or other item that holds a story. Slip Transfers: If you want to practice slip transfers on a piece, have a piece prepared, and not past the leather hard stage. Sgrafitto: If you want to practice sgrafitto have a piece prepared, and at the leather hard stage. This workshop is $20 for members and $25 for non-members.
