About this event
8 Weeks This course will introduce students to the wonderful world of ink, one of the world's most ancient art media! Whether you draw, paint, sculpt, print, or snap photos, inkwork can help you establish the foundations of composition, light/dark balance, and 2D design. We will experiment with a range of ink tools, including standard pens, dip pens, Japanese ink brushes, ink washes, and our own experimental drawing tools. Through the medium of ink, we will explore composition, markmaking, and strategies for creating depth, unity, harmony, texture, shadow, and contrast in our drawings and paintings. Students will leave this class not only with skills in the medium of ink, but with confidence in their ability to design beautiful, effective two-dimensional pictures.
