About this event
The PMOPC Archery Club proposes to offer a USArchery youth instructional program in beginners archery to the public in the Bridgton Old Town Hall gym. The Club is a registered and certified club by the USArchery organization ( usarchery.org). EQUIPMENT: The PMOPC Archery Club will provide all of the equipment for the range and all equipment and training accessories for the classes. To assure safety and compliance with the USArchery training program, participants are not allowed to use their own equipment during the classes. OBJECTIVE: The PMOPC Archery Club’s instruction is designed to train and encourage archers to participate in target archery with the opportunity to compete in local, regional and national tournaments. Once the basics of the 10 Steps of Shooting are practiced, archery becomes a mental challenge. Archery teaches mental discipline and responsibility, and helps a Person develop confidence and a sense of accomplishment. PMOPC Archery is focused on safety, fun and friendship. INSTRUCTORS AND TRAINING: Instructors are all certified archery instructors having met all requirements of USArchery ( previously The National Archery Association). This includes completing a “Safe Sport” class and a background check to assure the all youths are treated with respect. An “adaptive archery program” is available, with parental assistance, to provide equipment modifications or additional equipment needed to accommodate the archer with special needs.
