Instructor/s: Amy Prechter This clinic is geared for adult riders wanting to learn about the sport of barrel racing. Our motto is ‘Smoothness before Speed’ so don’t let the speed part scare you. Participants will spend time on the ground learning about proper tack for speed events, format/s of barrel racing, how to get involved as well as in the saddle doing warm ups, introduce exercises /pattern work to help in their speed events on day 1 and on day 2 will participate in a review/warm up, followed by a fun friendly timed barrel race. Participants will also receive a copy of video of their timed run. Riders must be confident in their riding skills (walk, trot and lope/canter independently and tack up their horse). Riders should have their own/leased horse available to them, a limited number of lesson horses will be available for participants with instructor approval and a lesson horse use fee. Haul in horses will be welcome with instructor approval (please ask us for additional info./must provide proof of negative coggins test & current vaccinations).
