The Venus Flytrap is the usually the first plant that comes to mind when the term “carnivorous plant” is mentioned. In this course we will cover the many carnivorous plant species that are available: Nepenthes, Drosera, Cephalotus follicularis, Bladderwort, Butterwort, Sarracenia, and of course the Venus Flytrap. Carnivorous plants can be picky and require specialized care that is very different than your normal houseplants. This course will discuss the water required for these plants, planting media, fertilizer, and lighting requirements. Many fail at keeping these beautiful plants alive because they assume their needs are the same as normal houseplants, and the mission with this class is to equip the plant owner with the knowledge they need for these plants to grow and thrive.
