The Leaders In Training (LIT) Volunteer Team is a group of youth volunteers who support the Summer Camp staff to deliver fun, safe, and engaging Daycamps to Bowen Island children.

LIT volunteer opportunities continue throughout the year with events such as Light Up Bowen, Canada Day and the Spring Egg Hunt. LIT's are integral in making all our events a success.

Ideal candidates will show enthusiasm to working with children, understand the importance of safety, practice reliability and responsibility, commit to learning new skills, be respectful towards self and others, and have a positive attitude. Successful applicants will gain valuable experience by building skills in leadership and self-efficacy, and strengthening their future eligibility to work in other recreation roles like Summer Camp or program facilitation.
Applicants must have finished Grade 7 in 2026.
Training Schedule (attendance both sessions greatly preferred)

• Thursday June 4: 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the Community Centre (dinner provided)
• Thursday June 11: 5:00-8:00 pm at BICS grass field (dinner provided)

Training dates are mandatory for all new LITs, and is strongly encouraged for all returning LITs.
LITs must be able to commit to 2 full weeks of summer camp volunteering.
