Description
No session on Tuesday 30 September or 11 NovemberFit Guys is a twice-weekly fitness and social program designed and run by volunteer men aged 60 and up. Each session offers a well-rounded, low-impact workout that focuses on balance, light cardio, strength, and flexibility—key areas for maintaining mobility, independence, and overall health as we age.
Why Twice a Week? Meeting twice a week helps build routine, which is essential for maintaining physical progress and motivation. Consistent exercise improves cardiovascular health, builds muscle mass, enhances mental clarity, and helps reduce the risk of injury. Equally important, the social component supports emotional well-being and combats isolation—because staying active is about more than just movement, it’s about connection.
What to Expect:
- Gentle Warm-Up & Balance Work: We begin with guided movements to improve coordination and reduce the risk of falls.
- Light Cardio: Keep your heart healthy with simple, accessible aerobic exercises tailored to your pace.
- Water Break
- Mat Work: On the mat, we’ll use light weights and body resistance to build strength in the core, arms, and legs.
- Stretching & Cool Down: End each session with mindful stretching to improve flexibility and reduce stiffness.
- Post-Class Social: After the workout, enjoy a relaxed FREE coffee and tea social in the Community Centre Living Room—an opportunity to connect with other Fit Fella’s, share stories, and build community.
No fitness level is too low—everyone is encouraged to join in, move at their own pace, and have fun and be social.
