Sight-singing level II is designed for musicians who wish to further refine their music reading proficiency. Building upon skills developed in Sight-singing Level I, this course focuses on accurate interval identification, increasing fluency within tonal and atonal frameworks, and integrating scalar & intervallic approaches into one method. Working with both “fixed do” and “moveable do” systems, as well as “numbers” for those who prefer, the course supports and strengthens each individual student's preferred approach.Class time will be spent reviewing and improving basic reading skills, and students’ progress will be tested and examined through the reading of diverse vocal selections from the repertoire. Repertoire for both in-class reading and homework will include tonal and atonal works, covering all Major and minor key centers, selected from standard musical works, such as songs, arias, choral selections by Bach, Handel, Mozart, Verdi among others.
