About this event

Description

What happens in the very first line of a novel—and what is at stake when it is translated?

This three-session workshop series explores the art and challenges of literary translation through close study of opening lines, poetic language, and formal constraint in French and Francophone literature.

Open to participants of all levels of French, the workshops focus on translation choices and the crafting of literary voice in English. A solid command of English is essential. No prior translation experience is required.
