About this event
This is the course required to renew your Illinois Concealed Carry License and is taught by an active sworn full-time police officer. For this particular class we will start at the classroom, at 1979 S. weber Road, Bolingbrook, IL 60490 Then to complete the shooting qualification we will be at The Range 355, 9003 Murphy Rd. Bolingbrook IL 60440. 3PM. to finish up. The range fee is $21 (range fee and target) please,,, bring $21 cash as we must pay the range fee for the entire group). You will need your firearm, 2 magazines, a minimum of 30 rounds of ammo, hearing protection, and eye protection. Please bring note taking material. Your firearm must be transported in a case for range purposes, Wear a shirt that fits tight around the neck and a baseball cap (baseball caps are optional). Along with the shooting qualification, this course will cover the following topics: 1. All applicable State and Federal laws relating to the ownership, storage, carry, and transportation of a firearm . a. The Act relating to the ownership, storage, carry and transportation of a firearm 1) with emphasis on 430 ILCS 66/10(h) which includes instruction on the appropriate and lawful interaction with law enforcement while transporting or carrying a concealed firearm. 2) with emphasis on 430 ILCS 66/65 which includes instruction on prohibited areas and the parking lot exception. b. The FOID Act 430 ILCS 65/1 et. seq. c. Relevant portions of the ILCS including but not limited to 1) 720 ILCS 5/7-1. Use of force in defense of a person** 2) 720 ILCS 5/7-2. Use of force in defense of dwelling** 3) 720 ILCS 5/7-3. Use of force in defense of other property** 4) 720 ILCS 24/1 et. seq.
