Painting: Portrait in Acrylic or Oil - Level 2 & 3
Instructor: Eleonora Hayes

Working from personal photo references, students will focus on head construction,
anatomy, and accurate proportion while translating drawing skills into paint. Emphasis
is placed on underpainting, value structure, and color temperature to establish
a strong foundation for a successful portrait. Students will develop surface quality,
subtle color shifts, and lighting effects to enhance depth and character. Emphasis is
placed on edge control, texture, and finishing techniques while encouraging students
to develop a personal approach to portrait painting

Prerequisite: Students should be painting at an intermediate / advanced level.
