Drawing & Painting: Botanical Art from the Kitchen
Instructor: Barbara Holmer
Cook up a comforting soup on a cold winter’s night…after drawing all the botanical ingredients! Food plants offer seemingly endless subjects for botanical artists. Using graphite, colored pencil*, and / or watercolor*, create a botanical drawing or painting that portrays the ingredients from a favorite recipe.
This class will cover compositional choices, color-matching, and cross sections. No cooking skills are required. Bring supplies for your chosen medium to the first class. Subjects will be provided for the first class. However, if you have a specific recipe / food plants in mind, you are welcome to bring them. *Students should have previous experience with their chosen medium.
