Jewelry & Metalsmithing: Decorative Metals Techniques
Instructor: Nancy Clark

Creating metal patterns, textures, and color can enhance your design and take your work to the next level. A variety of surface techniques such as marriage of metals, lamination, granulation, etching, Keum boo, and various texturing will be introduced. In this class, we will work with different patinas and ways to color metal. Students will design and execute a finished piece incorporating some of these techniques.

Prerequisite: The completion of a beginning and intermediate jewelry/metals class including torch soldering.


Level 2 & 3

Tuesdays, September 15 – December 1

9:00 am – 12:00 pm, 12 sessions

$418 Members, $458 Guests, Materials Fee $70


Metals/Jewelry Department Students


All Jewelry/Metals students pay a fee to cover supplies, and the use of tools/studio equipment during the class periods.

Materials list of items to bring:

-Please bring a small notebook and pencil to class
-Wear close-toed shoes and long pants
-Bring your own safety goggles, or you can share the studio goggles
