Drawing On the Right Side of the Brain - IntroductoryInstructor: Kerry Yaklin
This is an introductory class geared at learning thebasic skills for drawing. This theory approachesdrawing as a learnable skill that eases as wemodify the process of how we “see” in orderto draw more realistically. Many skills requiredto draw effectively are located in the brains’ rightprocessing hemisphere; not the dominant, analytic, left side. Projects are therefore designedto strengthen and practice these perceptual skillswith how the right brain processes information.By strengthening these skills, you can feel thejoy at achieving realistic looking drawings byexperiencing the mental shift that producesaccurate results. Items covered include: line, positive and negative spaces, proportion andperspective, light and shading, etc. This classis great for explaining the “how's” and “why’s” of the drawing process in a manner that is approachable. No previous classes or experience needed.
