Printmaking: Basic Traditional Japanese Woodblock Printing - Intro/ Level 1
Instructor: Nobuko Yamasaki

In this course, students will learn how to make a traditional Japanese Woodblock print that uses a Shina plywood board, special tools and black ink (to start).

Wednesdays, April 15 - June 10
10:00 am – 12:00 pm, 9 sessions

If you are return student, please bring your materials and your work.
If you are taking my class for the first time, please bring items on the list below.


* Sketchbook, lead pencils, and your photos /design 6.5”x8.5” or 7.5”x10.5”

* Fine razor point pens ( waterproof ex. MICRON 0.5)

* A ruler

* Tracing paper or Mylar or DURA-LAR( Polyester-film)

* Red Double -Sided Carbon paper McClain’s supply store item No. E4510. Or carbon paper

* A red ball pen

* Scotch tape or masking tape

* 1/4” Shina Plywood 3 of them, size 8”x10”item No. D1262 or

* Size 9”x12” item No. D 1263

* Drawer liner mat

* Shinwa Power grip carving knives (5 or 7 set) from Amazon
