Coding and Designing with Minecraft Students will first learn programming through visual block coding, then gradually transition to real-time coding, where they can experiment and create increasingly sophisticated Minecraft projects using advanced programming concepts and game features. Each concept is introduced through guided lessons and then reinforced by encouraging students to apply what they've learned in their own creative builds. Minecraft: Education Edition makes learning computer science fun, engaging, and meaningful. Beyond coding, students develop computational thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills while building confidence through hands-on projects and open-ended exploration. Our curriculum is differentiated by grade level. While students may be in the same classroom, Grades 1–2 work on age-appropriate foundational coding concepts and guided projects, while Grades 3–5 tackle more advanced programming challenges, logic, and game design.
