CWS is holding its 2nd annual 5K fundraiser in cooperation with Marshall Wharf Brewing Company in Belfast, Maine. Come join us for a fun run/walk on the Belfast Rail Trail and kick off the second day of the Maine Celtic Celebration. Following the race, Marshall Wharf will host an afterparty where CWS will hand out prizes to top finishers and best costumes. After the awards ceremony, cash in your beer tickets and listen to Down East Dead jam at the wharf!
Funds from the race will go to supporting wildlife conservation in Maine and our commitment to deliver community education programs in the region to encourage environmental awareness and stewardship.
This event is one of five events in the RunBelfast 2023 race series held in Belfast, Maine (more at https://www.runbelfast.org). The series includes: Paces for PAWS 5K - Jun 3; Center for Wildlife Studies Run Wild! 5K - Jul 22; Rotary Bug Run 5K - August 19; YMCA Cross Country 5K - Sep ??; and Lions Ghostly Gallop - October 28. Where: Marshall Wharf and Front Street, Belfast, Maine
Race-day registration and Packet pick-up: Race day between 7:30-8:15 a.m.
Fees: $25 pre-registration thru July 19; $35 pre-registration thru June 19, includes race day t-shirt; $30 race day; $20 for active duty military
Awards: Overall female and male; then top M & F in each of 9 age groups (pre-teen thru 80+)
What to bring: Please bring ID for your complimentary beer ticket
What to wear: Wearing your favorite animal costume is encouraged!
