BASIC 1-2-3 Introduction or Refresher Basic 1-2-3 is tailored to meet the needs of each student. Students spend time in the classroom and proceed to the range with the instructor to shoot revolvers & semi-automatic handguns. WHAT YOU WILL LEARN & GET TESTED ON:  Safely handling handguns  How to safely load & unload a firearm  4 firearm safety rules  Types of handguns: Top 3 you need to know  Basic bullet guide: sizes, calibers, types & how ammunition works,  How to talk to your kids about gun safety  Shooting fundamentals  Shooting stance  Two handed shooting positions  Grip & sight picture  Eye dominance  Trigger pull & follow through  How to identify different types of handguns & actions  Parts of the handgun  Range rules & etiquette  Cleaning the handgun & Safe Storage In addition, students will learn about the process of obtaining a firearm license to carry permit in Texas, as well as some of the specifics Texas firearms laws. Advanced students will learn defensive skills, loading & stoppage remediation drills and more. STUDENTS WILL NEED:  Unloaded Firearm (Rental firearms available)  One box sealed factory ammo (50rds)(Available for purchase)  Two unloaded magazines  Eye and over the ear protection (Available to purchase) In order to move forward into other classes, you must be able to demonstrate that you are safe with a handgun, and you have proficiency with that handgun. You are required to give a 72-hour notice if you are unable to attend the course for which you have registered. If you fail to give this notice or you no-call/no-show to the class, you will not receive a refund. If you need to reschedule your course, this also must be done with a minimum of 72 hours’ notice to avoid losing your class fee. Rescheduling Fee is $25 before 72 hours of your class.
