Marc purchased his first road bike, a 1998 Giant TCR, at the age of 18. He'd worked all summer to save money to buy his first car, when two days before he was set to make his purchase, destiny took him through the doors of Dominic’s Cycling Shop in Tempe, Arizona. He’s been riding and racing on the road ever since.
Besides his love for cycling, Marc is also an experienced runner. He was a high school state finalist in cross-country and in the two-mile event in track and field his senior year. He’s completed two marathons and six half marathons in the past decade.
Marc has worked as an editor and project manager for two book publishers and has been a contributing writer for Competitor magazine. He received his B.A. in English/Literature from the University of Maryland and his M.A. in Writing and Book Publishing from Portland State University.
As a a Hospital Corpsman and certified Physical Therapy Assistant in the U.S. Navy for eight years, Marc has an extensive background treating sports-related injuries and teaching injury-prevention principles to athletes.
Originally from Tacoma, Washington, Marc has lived in Germany, Japan, Oregon, Colorado, Arizona and Georgia. He now calls San Diego, California his home.
