About this event
Learn about robotics through friendly competition! Use Spike Prime kits and the Scratch programming language to create robots that can traverse an obstacle course the fastest, collect the most lollipops, or push its competitors out of a ring. Matthew Milone developed Regents' co-curricular robotics programs and has taught them for the last three semesters. He also tutors math and coaches chess. Growing up, Matthew participated in FIRST robotics competitions throughout middle and high school. Due to FIRST’s emphasis on community outreach, he volunteered for approximately 200 hours of lessons, demonstrations, workshops, and other mentoring activities. After achieving a B.S. in computational mathematics from the Rochester Institute of Technology, Matthew was a professional software engineer for three years at First Trust Portfolios.
