In Grow Your Own Organic Garden, participants will learn the basics of organic gardening -- such as supporting soil and plant health, starting seeds indoors and outdoors, interplanting, pest management, watering, and harvesting. Students will have plenty of time to ask questions and connect with one another about shared experiences in their gardening journeys so far. By the end of this class, participants should feel equipped with knowledge -- and connected to resources and community members -- that will help them grow an organic garden, and feel satisfied with the process of doing so. The Maine Organic Farmers & Gardeners Association is the largest and oldest state organic organization in the country. Instructor Jon Ault is the Assistant Farm Manager at Johnny’s Seeds and has taught this class to beginner gardeners for many years.
