About this event
NOTE: This workshop is held over two consecutive Saturdays. First Saturday: Participants will learn pinch and other handbuilding methods to sculpt organic objects, like fruit and interesting objects from nature. Emphasis will be placed on sculpting from direct observation rather than memory or imagination. We will also explore various methods for achieving a variety of textures. This workshop is intended to be a useful and refreshing exercise for beginners and experienced sculptors alike. All-levels. Second Saturday: Participants will be introduced to basic staining, underglazing, and glazing techniques to accentuate the textures and add surface treatments to complete the forms they sculpted on Day 1. For the health and safety of Callanwolde instructors, students, and staff, we have the following Covid safety protocols in place: - OPTIONAL masking for those that certify their vaccination status. - MANDATORY masking for those who wish to not disclose vaccination status. - Acceptable masks are surgical, cloth, or N-95/KN-95. When you complete your registration, your confirmation email will have a link to a vaccine verification form. You do NOT need to complete the form if you certified your status for a prior quarter. Callanwolde Fine Arts Center employees who have access to vaccination information are required to keep this information confidential and secure.
