*Pre-requisite: must have taken beginning sewing or approved by instructor

The course begins with students creating a basic kimono-style light jacket, providing an introduction to essential garment construction techniques. Once they have mastered these foundational skills, the curriculum advances to cover the intricacies of sewing with knit fabrics. This progression allows students to build confidence and expertise, moving from straightforward construction to more complex methods while developing a well-rounded understanding of apparel creation. $10 supply fee due at the first class

Supplies: Please bring a working sewing machine, all tools and fabrics of your choice. You may contact instructor about fabric choices and where to purchase.

REFUND POLICY: To receive a refund, students must submit their request at least 2 weeks before the first class. No refunds or transfers are guaranteed after this time. To withdraw from a class, you are required to email ChastainArts@AtlantaGA.gov and include your name, the class name, and your reason for withdrawal. The option to accept an account credit for the class withdrawal is preferred. If a withdrawal/refund is requested after 2 weeks prior to or after the class has begun, a $30 administration fee will be deducted and only an account credit will be processed to be used for future class registrations, clay purchases, and future purchases in our gift shop & gallery. If a class is running at minimum enrollment, we cannot process refunds or credits within 1 week of the class starting. If you register for a class after the session has begun, only an account credit will be processed if a withdrawal is requested. Anyone registered for a figure class with a model will be required to pay the model fee on the first day of class with cash or check to the instructor. Even if you request a withdrawal after the first day of class, you will be required to pay the model fee calculated based on enrollment on the first-class meeting. The Chastain Arts Center is not responsible for classes missed due to student absences and the student is not eligible to receive a refund or credit for any missed classes due to a student absence. Please discuss any unavoidable absences with your instructor
