About this event
Students will learn to refine their wheel-throwing technique, with emphasis on enhancing the thrown form. Students must be able to center clay and throw basic shapes. In salt firing, salt is introduced into the kiln atmosphere, which interacts with the clay body and glazes producing unique effects in color and texture. Prerequisite: At least two quarters of Pottery on the Wheel at Callanwolde. Instructor: Douglas Tobin Day/Time: Thursdays, 7:00-9:30 PM Studio Hours Monday - Friday: 12:30 - 6:30 PM Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM For the health and safety of Callanwolde instructors, students, and staff, we have the following Covid safety protocols in place: - OPTIONAL masking for those that certify their vaccination status. - MANDATORY masking for those who wish to not disclose vaccination status. - Acceptable masks are surgical, cloth, or N-95/KN-95.
