If your child loves working with clay, this class is the perfect opportunity to explore the art of ceramics. In this hands-on enrichment, students will learn the fundamentals of ceramic handbuilding, including how to create slabs, use the slip-and-score technique, sculpt forms, build vessels, and glaze their finished pieces. Throughout the session, students will create a variety of projects such as a plate, mug, wall pocket, treasure box, and decorative wall tile. Campers will also have the opportunity to design and create a freestyle clay project of their own. All projects will be fired in Ann Peden’s professional kiln at her art studio and returned to students once completed.
