Description
Join us for the NC Science Festival's Statewide Star Party, themed "Mission to the Moon"! Take part in fun, hands-on activities until 8 p.m., including solar system walks (two times will be available), games, crafts, and face painting. As the sun goes down, enjoy constellation storytelling around the campfire and observe the night sky through telescopes and binoculars as our experts take you on a celestial tour, including the Moon, Venus, and the Pleiades star cluster.
This free Star Party event is hosted by Wake County's American Tobacco Trail staff partnering with the Raleigh Astronomy Club, Go Camp! LLC, and Green Level High School's Astronomy Club and Science National Honor Society and the National Art Honor Society, with generous volunteer assistance from Green Hope High School.All ages and skill levels are welcome. Bring your curiosity, water bottle, chair and/or blanket, and a picnic dinner to enjoy beforehand if you wish. The event will take place on the back field at the White Oak parking area (1305 White Oak Church Rd., Apex) under the stars.
No registration required! Rain/cloud date of Saturday, April 25 from 6-9:30 p.m.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. No pets except service animals are permitted at programs. Free with no registration required!
