Description
Grades 4th-8th. Return to the basics: slip knot, chain, single crochet - to make a small square. Then progress to magic circles and double crochet to make classic granny squares. Finally, choose a project based on how many squares you complete: coaster, a small bag, or a market bag (advanced). All materials provided. Prerequisites: Some prior experience with crochet, and ability to work independently after receiving instruction. Willingness to work on projects at home to reinforce what is learned in class and make steady progress. Instructor: Katherine Williams. 6 classes.

Focus of each week:
Week 1: Return to crochet basics (slip knot, chain, single crochet) while making a simple practice square.
Weeks 2-4: Progress to magic circles and double crochet. Practice and build multiple granny squares.
Week 5: Learn how to join squares to begin a project. Choose one option: Coaster (1-2 squares), Small bag (2-4 squares), Market bag (multiple squares, advanced option)
Week 6: Add finishing touches and polish skills.
