Description
Are you ready to take your pottery to the next level? Do you wish to learn how to add imagery to your ceramic projects?
Surface decoration is the art of applying patterns, illustrations, or textures to a surface to enhance its visual appeal. In this 2-day class, students will explore the decorative techniques of sgraffito and inlay. In many cases, ceramic projects are great "canvases" to add imagery onto, whether that be a wheel-thrown form or a tile. This imagery is one way to add visual interest to your projects and can enhance the form and add detail to your work.
During the first day of this class, students will brainstorm and make their pieces. On the second day, students will add designs to these pieces.
Come explore the two-dimensional on the three-dimensional. This class is great for intermediate potters who would like to elevate their work or those wanting to try "drawing" on clay.
Students have the option to take home their work as fired bisqueware or choose to have their pieces glazed by the instructor. (Students will be notified via email when work is ready for pickup; wait time is 6 weeks.)
In order to get the most out of this class, please come prepared with some design ideas or drawings you would like to explore on clay.
