Earth, Wind and Fire Assemblies for K thru 5th graders, 1 Session on July 21, 2026 for 20 Students. Demonstration to include any 2 of the 5 demonstrations listed below. An interactive workshop with follow the science demonstration in which two stations will be set-up to guide children in building make and take catapults and pocket rockets Please choose and let us know which of 2 following demonstration you would like to present to the kids for the science demo portion or let us know if any two of our choosing is fine. 🧪 STEM Assembly Activity Summary 1. States of Matter The Transition: Use Dry Ice in warm water to demonstrate sublimation (solid to gas), creating massive fog "waterfalls." The Non-Newtonian Twist: Fill a large tub with Oobleck (cornstarch/water) to show a substance that acts as both a solid and a liquid. Slime Science: Use a Cross-linking demo by mixing PVA glue and Borax to create a giant, stretchy polymer chain. 2. Air Pressure & Vacuums The Implosion: Perform the Soda Can Crush by heating a small amount of water in a can and flipping it into ice water, showing atmospheric pressure in action. Invisible Lift: Use a high-powered leaf blower to suspend Beach Balls in mid-air (Bernoulli’s Principle). 3. Simple Machines The Giant Lever: Use a 2x4 board and a fulcrum to allow a small student to "lift" a heavy teacher or a stack of books. Pulley Power: Set up a Block and Tackle system for a lopsided tug-of-war where the "weak" side wins through mechanical advantage. 4. Sound & Vibrations Visualizing Waves: Use a Chladni Plate (or a balloon stretched over a speaker with salt on top) to show geometric patterns created by different sound frequencies. The Boom: Use Thunder Tubes or tuned percussion tubes to show how the length of an object changes the pitch of the vibration. 5. Light & Color Spectrum Split: Use a high-intensity spotlight and a Large Prism to project a rainbow across the room.
