Celebrate Earth Day by learning how you can contribute to local and global research projects working to make our planet better for everyone!
Citizen science is the practice of inviting everyone from professionals to casual observers to contribute to research projects together. Some are large and widespread, and others focus on local impacts. Learn about some of our favorite citizen science projects like the City Nature Challenge on iNaturalist, eBird, and the Pennsylvania Bird Atlas and how to effectively participate and contribute as well as how to use some of the most common free smartphone apps used to participate in these projects.
Participants are encouraged to have the free apps iNaturalist, eBird, and Merlin Bird ID installed on their smartphones prior to the program to follow along with some of the presentation.
This program is open to everyone from beginners to experienced citizen scientists looking for more ways to contribute.
Adult must register and attend with children. Dress well for outdoor weather. Call for more information 724-935-2170
